Re: Marking Cache as found/not found

Gets my vote and I use an N95.

We're well versed at using number keyboards for SMS here in the UK so you'd be surprised how big some of the logs will get even with a 'normal' phone keyboard.

Re: Marking Cache as found/not found
I have just loaded GN on my N95, went out at lunchtime and found a cache. Brilliant stuff! I agree that the option to add some meaningful text to the Found log would be helpful. Also, it would be good if the find was date/time stamped, it currently defaults to saying "Logged from my phone using the Geocache Navigator by Trimble" not terribly useful for remembering when or how.

I may have misunderstood how it works but I also expected that when I marked a cache as "found" and I asked it to filter out finds that that particular cache would have been removed from the list, perhaps it would have gone onto a "found cache" list so that I could see the ones that I had done until refreshed or properly logged. I notice that once you turn a "field note" into a proper log it disappears from the My Field Notes area of the GC site.

Anyway, great tool - I am hooked.

Is there a way to edit the actual log from the field when marking as found/not found? This would be helpful in writing about the "experience" while you are actually "experiencing it" . Its not too hard to remember when you find one or two at a time, but during the times you rack up 20-30 it becomes difficult. Just a thought...

What I have been doing recently is just going to the GC.com site on my BB phone browser and entering my full log while still on the cache site.

I agree with the above. A time stamp on the log when you get back to the GC.com site would be fantastic!

Not too fussed about being able to write a note with each cache as it is still better to log them on GC.com especially when there are travel bugs or coins involved.

Re: Marking Cache as found/not found

Count me in for logging on site!  I've got a N95 and I also have a Bluetooth keyboard.  It's very handy to write down your story while finding the cache and logging it direct on the site.

And time+date stamp sounds very usefull too.

The only thing is: Travelbugs..   When I log a found I need to 'attach' a travelbugs.   I don't think it's possible to attach them to a find when it's already posted.  Or is it?
