External GPS-Receiver Problems
Hi, I like your tool but there are a few things which don't work proberly. I Use it (V2.03) with a Nokia E60. I own 2 two different types of bluetooth GPS-receiver - one with sirf III chipset (this one works brilliant) and a I-blue 747 (MKT chipset). With the I-blue mouse I get absolutly no connection in the tool. Tomtom and an other GPS programm work without any problems. Any ideas why?

Two other points - with some caches the cache desciption (text) is not complete and what about the pictures that are linked with some caches (and often are necessary), is there any possibility to get them displayed?

THX for your work

Re: External GPS-Receiver Problems
Your right about the cache descriptions getting cut off... We will be releasing a fix for that shortly.

The external GPS issues you are having are unfortunate. If other applications work, I don't see why this one wouldn't. The application doesn't actually do very much. They just ask the phone for GPS, and the phone will handle connecting to your device, and feeding the data to us... I think that other users are having similar issues, and though we focus on internal GPS first, we will do some investigation on this soon.

As for the pictures, you should log that to the "Feature Requests" discussion so we don't forget to consider that in the next round of features ;-)

Re: External GPS-Receiver Problems
Dear GCN devs!

I would really like this app very much, but it freezes my phone, whenever i let it search for gps via bluetooth. I'm using Nokia E65 (wide spreaded business phone) with external GPS receiver Holux M-1200 (MTK MT3318 chipset). After start of GCN it freezes with splash screen, white screen or in application menu. This happens whenever i launch GCN with bluetooth on and GPS Receiver in Range (with fixed GPS Signal). I reset my phone back to factory settings hoping to get this app to work. But no success. It freezes and freezes again. I have no problem at all with tomtom or garmin mobile on this phone! These apps are running without any problems on my E65 with holux m-1200.

Devs: Please let me know, if i can do anything to support you to fix this problem!

Best regards

Re: External GPS-Receiver Problems
I just googled a bit an found this topic in the nokia-board:

Perhaps you can have a look at program aftrack - this one lists on start all BT devices and works perfect with the MTK chipset...

Re: External GPS-Receiver Problems
Some good news - it works! After the installation of  mgmaps (an other java gps tool) all is fine. A remaining problem are some sporadic freezes of the phone launching the app.
