Sorry, we really need to get more information to further trouble shoot this issue. Is the phone locking through the application or the connection? What exactly were you doing when the device locks up (i.e. retrieving a cache, map, switching screens etc.)

All of the pairing with the blue tooth is actually done by the operating system. The application doesn't know if it's getting GPS data from internal GPS or from a blue tooth puck.

There should be an option on the phone to check for updates. Can you run that and see if there are any newer versions of the operating system to try?

If possible could you or anyone else experiencing this issue describe a series of steps to make this happen.

Thanks for your reply.

I'm using a Nokia E65 and, according to the nokia Software Updater (V.1.4.36en), it has the latest firmware. The GPS it's a Holux M-1000.

I will try to write what I've done, step by step...

The first message that appears it's:

Do you allow the geocache navigator (GN) to use the network to receive or send data?
I answer Yes. I choose my APN. In this case, I'm using my wirelless connection that I've in my house.
After this, the menu appears.. Quick cache, find cache, etc...
After 10 seconds, and I didn't select any of the options in the menu, another message appears:
Do you allow the GN to use the position data?
I answer YES.

And that's it. After this question, the GN just locks. sometimes, the phone recovers. Others, I must remove the battery to recover the phone.

I know that the GPS it's working. When the phone recovers, I turn on another aplication, for example, Tom tom mobile and everything it's alright. It's only with the GN.

Forgive my english. The questions that apear are in portuguese, and I've tried to translate them to english.

Thanks for the information... The application is unaware of where the gps information comes from. It just asks the phone where you are and the phone responds. I'm confused about why it would lock up, but I'm afraid that there isn't a lot we can do at this point. we will continue to try to reproduce the behavior, but I don't have a lot of hope on this one :(

Hi, I have done various experiments over the last few weeks with no problems whatsoever.

At lunchtime today, I went looking for a local cache that was eluding me and when starting up GN, I got the splash screen and the phone froze, needing battery removal. (Using 2.0.3 on N73 with Holux M-1000). After restart of phone, on the second attempt, after saying yes to request for use of BT, it froze again, this time with only the text and GPS bars in the two top corners showing, rest of the screen showing normal icons. (battery out again). Try number three was a repeat of try number 1. So was try number 4. Grrr.

I then used Nokia Maps - no problems. Tried Garmin MobileXT - no problems, Back to GN - also no problems?????!!!!

I know this is not much help as it is not repeatable. When back in the office I see that there is 2.0.4 - loaded that and again, no problems. Most confusing!

Anyway - maybe I will escape the problems as I have just got a new N82, yes GN is already on!

Thanks again for the great app. BTW: I found that pesky cache this time around with the help of GN. :-)
