Two features requested
Hi there!
I'm using an N95, and I like the program. However, I'd like to suggest three changes that would really improve usability for me.
1) When cache information is downloaded, can it be stored between sessions? I'd like to be able to pre-load the phone with several caches (perhaps dozens if I'm travelling abroad) so I can use it offline. This could be helped by having an option on the search results page to "download full data for all caches".
2) When I'm browsing caches through WiFi, I'm asked which access point I want to use over and over again, once for each request for data. Can the program just keep the connection open instead?
3) A setting for "home coordinates", so I can do quick searches without waiting for the GPS to acquire position, would be handy.
Many thanks! :)

heh, #1 is the first thing i emailed them about. it seems so obvious and would give the program 100% more flexibility. ive gone out a couple of times with my nieces and it works great. altho we only found 1 of the 3 caches we got to because theres too much snow :)
i also cant seem to change the "how far away" setting from 2.17 miles in the "find caches near me". is this supposed to be hard coded?

#2
Go into app manager.
Find the geocache program and open it.
You can set the access point and other permissions.

Hi Andrew,
For #2 you have to set a default access point in the Tools menu (Tools>App. mgr. then Options for Geocache Navigator, Open, Default Access Point). I'm guessing you won't want to do this with a WiFi connection since you won't have access to this while out and about. Unfortunately, Java applications on the S60 platform aren't able to keep a set connection open during the same session.
For #3, you'll see "Recent Caches" at the top of the main menu. It will display the most recent search (like from a home location) until you close the program. It might be a good idea to keep this cached even when you reopen the app - we'll check it out.
