Nokia 5800 - "Getting your location..." forever...
Any tips or instructions on using geocache navigator on the Nokia 5800? Whenever I try "find cache" it seems to sit on "Getting your location, Please wait" for ages. Works occasionally but other times it takes so long I just give up. It sometimes comes up with too many connections open and prompts me to close my MMS connection.

All the other applications that use GPS on the phone work fine and quickly so this is very frustrating after paying £30 for the software.

I am not on a Nokia, but a BB Curve 8330 and have not been able to use this program for the past two days, at all.  The GPS signal never picks up, although the Navigation program has no problem getting GPS signal.  Any others having this problem?

dragonladyRN: I just tried it on my 8330, and it worked for me. You are on Sprint right?

darkbloo: I'm not sure why this would happen... we tested this with a 5800 before we released and it all seemed to work just fine. I'll see if we can find a 5800 to test with and get back to you.

What version are you running?

Thanks!

darkbloo: I just had the Nokia 5800 out and tried to reproduce your issue. When you are prompted to Select Connection: are you using a WiFi connection? If so that could be your problem. Have you tried changing the connection from this screen? I noticed that when I have WiFi selected for the connection that I am not able to aquire GPS even when I am in the WiFi range. Please give that a try and let us know how it works.

Thanks!

Michael
