Compass doesn't point to north and other issues
I've got Geocache Navigator 2.1.16 installed on my phone.
Everything works great except from the compass.
I can quick cache and when I have chosen a cache the application shows distance (and counts down) and I can use the maps, the hints, everything but:
The compass ring doesn't turn and point to the north. It's always shows north at 12 o'clock.
The arrow in the compass doesn't point to the cache either.
It's the same with the radar ...

I solved this by bringing a regular compass but I feel that's quite complicated.
I've got full reception (green).
The GPS device is working fine with other navigation  applications such as Google maps
Is there a setting I've forgotten to enable/disable?

Re: Compass doesn't point to north and other issues
What phone model do you have? Unless we've got a bug on that phone and the arrow in the compass doesn't move at all, then it's just not what you're used to. Because the compass is based upon the difference in heading of two Gps points, it doesn't know which way is north. It's a digital compass, not magnetic. If you bring up a cache and view the compass screen and then walk in a straight line, in any direction, just keep it straight for 100 feet or so, the arrow in the compass should stabilize and be pointing towards the cache. Try not to think of the compass screen as a true magnetic compass. It's more of just a pointing arrow that happens to have North, South, East, West labels around it.

You sound like a pretty avid outdoors man (I would say that most people don't know how to use a compass), so it could take a little getting used to. The biggest thing to keep in mind is that it won't work if you are standing still. You need to be moving in order to get different, accurate, Gps positions so that a direction vector can be calculated.

Give it another shot and if it's still not working or you have other questions, let us know.
